The Apollo’s 5th annual WOW (Women of the World) Festival is an entirely digital, two-day program of dynamic conversations, workshops, and performances for and by women and girls from around the world.
This year’s theme, Black Women Transcending will mark this particular moment in time as we continue to endure a global pandemic and navigate the current political climate in the U.S., while simultaneously balancing self-care, family, community and work. More than 80 women are scheduled to participate.
Join us for workshops and panel discussions featuring artists, thought leaders, authors, and activists including Adeline, Aunjanue Ellis; Elaine Welteroth, Harriette Cole, Dr. Shola Mos-Shogbamimu, Reneé Watson, Jessamyn Stanley, Nikki Giovanni and many more!
Other highlights of WOW include a special Teen Summit addressing the role of young women and girls in policy making, a special conversation centered around the artist and activist Hazel Scott and a closing night program of short films by women in speculative fiction, sci-fi, fantasy and folklore, curated by Apollo Film’s ImageNation’s Cocktails & Sol Cinema.
Your festival pass includes access to all conversations, performances, panels and workshops on Saturday, March 20 and Sunday, March 21.
WOW Apollo is presented in partnership with The WOW Foundation.
